There are no small macaw cages, just as there are no small macaws. Beautiful, boisterous, sassy, flamboyant – and very smart – he’ll need lots of stimulation to keep him interested as well as plenty of time with you as he is a social bird. The largest of the macaws is the stunning Hyacinth Macaw which can reach forty inches long, including his tail! So, his cage is going to have to be spacious – search online for information about macaw cages as there are many sites devoted to macaws. All of them agree that the biggest of the macaw cages should be the one you choose; it should be a minimum of five feet in height, three feet deep and four feet wide. For easy movement, consider getting one with wheels – portable and really convenient for cleaning as macaws can be pretty untidy. How much should you pay? A good quality macaw cage is around $2,000 – get the best you possibly can because this is not something you want to replace frequently.

Your choice of macaw cages is super-important – some of the cheaper ones are made of galvanized steel which is extremely toxic to macaws, so ensure that when you research your macaw cages, it’s made of solid stainless steel. Check the hinges and locks too – and make certain that the cage has double welds. That powerful beak with up to 1,000 psi bite pressure can break single welds in a heartbeat. There should be a removable tray at the bottom, making it easier to clean up after him. The bars should be an inch and a half apart so that when climbing, he can grab the bars with his beak without the risk of getting his head stuck. Check the thickness of the perches which come in all macaw cages – these should be thick enough for his big feet to curl around. Four to six inches around is not too much for a big macaw and you might consider replacing them with bark-covered ones to keep his talons well groomed.

There’s so much to consider when viewing the variety of macaw cages online. If there’s a breeder in your area, you can get all the information and tips you need first hand. He or she will tell you that your macaw will also need toys. Untreated wooden blocks to chew on – chewing is his favorite occupation and you can get these at your local lumber yard. And if you wish, you can color them by soaking them in Kool-Aid (the sugar-free kind) and letting them drip-dry. He’ll need some strong, braided ropes to climb up and down and some “parrot puzzles.” These come apart and you can hide a treat inside for him to discover and figure out how to get at it. When shopping for toys, choose the extra-large size for your macaw – they can play pretty rough.

Some macaw cages come with a “play-top.” A ladder, a hook to hang toys on, perches and food bowls. Good-quality ones have a removable tray under the play-top for easy cleaning and your macaw will perch up there for hours enjoying the family interaction as well as taking part in it.

Where’s the best place for the cage? With the family – for meals, watching TV, playing games or music. It’s stimulating for him, keeping him amused and occupied. A bored macaw will shriek – very loudly – to get your attention and believe me, there’s no ignoring that sound.

Guinea pigs are amazing pets with great dispositions. They require just a little upkeep and make terrific pets for older kids. But guinea pigs aren’t for everyone. Here are simply a few factors to consider before running down to your favorite animal shelter or pet store to pick one up.

Guinea pigs don’t do particularly well living alone. They are social creatures who crave the companionship of others. Consider the life-styles and personalities of you and your family. Will your new addition be actually integrated into your household and get a lot of attention – not only in the beginning when you first bring it home – but for its entire life? Or will it be principally ignored, sitting alone in its guinea pig cage, left to become “just an obligation” once the original novelty has worn off? Or, if you cannot give it enough attention, are you willing to house more than one pigs together so that they can keep one another company?

With the excitement of pet ownership also comes responsibility. Are you prepared to totally commit to long-term care and feeding for your new pet for its whole life? Guinea pigs normally live 5 to 6 years – and some can live as many as eight years. So remember, when you bring home a guinea pig, you are bringing home another living being. And ultimately , you will be the one responsible for its health and safety for the remainder of its life.

Are you emotionally strong enough to suffer the loss of your pet in the future? As I said earlier, guinea pigs typically live about five to six years. While this might be a long time in terms of making a commitment to your animal; it is a relatively short time in relation to the lifespan of you or your children. In other words, as indelicate as it sounds, it’s probable that you’ll sometime have to watch your pet die.

This is neither bad nor good – it’s just life. Nevertheless it can be a good learning experience for your kids in terms of learning the way to handle death and loss in a healthy way. But it can also be a very upsetting and difficult time.

Our family has owned many pets from guinea pigs to rabbits to dogs. Our family has had had fish, snails, mice and even frogs. And, unavoidably, we have sadly lost many pets. Over time, the woods in our backyard have now become a tiny pet cemetery. But on the whole, those pets have all contributed so very much more to our family during their lifetimes than they ever took away with their deaths. For us, the pluses counterbalanced the ultimate negatives of pet ownership.

On the other hand, my sister-in-law was devastated by the demise of her ferret. So much so that she decided never to own another pet again. For her, the negative overwhelmed the positive things. Which type of person (or family) are you? You really should know before you bring home a guinea pig.

Bringing home a new pet is exciting – but it also implies a major commitment. Are you happy to spend time with your pet and give it the attention that it needs? Are you prepared to commit to this stewardship for the whole life-span of your new animal? And are you emotionally prepared to handle the inescapable bad times that come with the good experiences that your guinea pig will supply? If you can say yes to all these questions, then you’re a good candidate for a guinea pig owner. Enjoy.

Irrespective of what sort of guinea pig you’re looking to have, each one of them have just about the same requirements for a healthy, spacious and secure home. We here at BlueStoneCommerce are guinea pig owners as well as guinea pig cage sellers.

I really want you to read this. Especially if you are thinking of getting a monkey as a pet. He’s very different from a cat or dog as he’s an exotic animal – but be aware that monkeys are not easy pets to own. He’s a wild animal and will remain so and will require a lot of commitment from you, his parent for as long as he lives – longer than a cat or a dog. There are several breeds of small monkeys which do well in monkey cages of the appropriate type – you will have seen them online when you were doing your “monkey as pets” research. Outdoor monkey cages need to be in the shade and should be larger than you think you’ll need – monkeys require lots of space.

Breeds. Squirrel monkeys are adorable’ they’re originally from South and Central America and were originally brought to the United States as pets by humans. Give some thought to whether you’ll get a baby monkey or adopt a grown one who will already be acclimated. A baby will require infant milk until you wean him to solid foods, while a mature one would probably be easier to feed. Your pet food store will have commercial monkey food but you will need to supplement that with fruits and vegetables – in the wild, he would eat grubs and grasshoppers too. Cooled hard-cooked eggs, nuts, and seeds; consider stringing dried fruits and vegetables and hang them inside your monkey cages as he’ll enjoy tearing them apart.

He’s extremely active and sociable and needs plenty of stimulation as he’s confined to whatever you provide in the way of monkey cages. Toys should be wood, not plastic as he’s a chewer with very sharp little teeth. You might want to check out children’s toys for the backyard, such as a slide or a little house for one of his monkey cages – these are built of solid, molded plastic and are hard to destroy. He’ll need a tree or two to sleep and play in, swinging from one to the other as he would do in his natural habitat. A few pieces of garden hose attached to the roof would be perfect for swinging and climbing. And a hammock – and a place to hide when he feels the need for solitude. His water bottle should be attached securely to the walls of his monkey cages and his food bowl should be of stainless steel – monkeys are messy and love to throw things, even food.

When you find a veterinarian who’s familiar with monkeys, ask him or her about monkey cages. You’ll need a vet for annual examinations and shots. If your monkey is a youngster, consider spaying or neutering because when he becomes sexually mature, he’ll be a lot less affectionate and more aggressive. Monkeys bite when scared and they do not like loud noises! They do not tolerate small children well, so check to make sure that your state allows monkeys as pets because many of them have laws against it. If your monkey bites someone, you may run into trouble with your local authority.

Consider the pros and cons carefully – it’s a commitment for life and you’ll need lots of patience and tolerance – it’s a bit like having an eternal three-year old around. Demanding, noisy, spoiled and absolutely adorable little animals, having a monkey as a pet is not to be taken lightly. But do enjoy him if you decide to get one.

What is a C&C Cage?

First of all, I mention the phrase C&C cage in the title of this brief article. What does this phrase mean? This is a cage-building technology which has become ever more popular lately. C&C stands for Cubes and Coroplast – the two major components used to design and build these types of guinea pig cages.

Actually the word cubes doesn’t accurately describe the construction material being used. In actuality, steel wire grids are used to construct the cage walls. They are called cubes, only because these steel wire grids are traditionally used as parts to build storage cube systems.

Coroplast is actually the brand name of a corrugated plastic sheet product. The name is really a contraction of the words corrugated and plastic. Coroplast is a corrugated plastic material that comes in sheet form and is mostly used to make signs. Structurally it resembles cardboard but it is hugely different from cardboard in that it is not made of paper but extruded from polypropylene plastic. You may have seen political campaign signs, for example, on people’s front lawns made from this material.

Why Choose a C&C Cage

The number one reason that folks selected C&C guinea pig cages over industrially produced petshop cages is because pet shop cages are usually much too tiny to offer a healthy environment for your pig (s). Bigger cages can be tough to find and costly to buy. In addition, guinea pigs are social beings so it is always recommended that they be kept in groups of two or more. This, naturally, creates an even larger need for space.

Because C&C cages are made from 14-inch x 14-inch grids, they may be used to design a whole selection of cage sizes and configurations. In truth the range of options is unlimited. Many cages feature multiple levels, wheels, bridges, ramps and other innovative features. Your inventiveness is the only limit.

A Word about Safety

Lately, one of the popular national department store chains has redesigned its cube storage units to save cost. The new and cheaper design still uses 14-inch x 14-inch grids , however , every individual grid only has 8 squares on a side. The old design made use of a 9×9 grid layout – thus each opening was smaller than in the new 8×8 grids.

As C&C Cage sellers, we’ve been contacted by one or two pig rescue organisations who’ve informed us that guinea pig strangulation deaths have been reported by people using the new 8×8 grids. It is extremely important for your pig’s safety that you avoid 8×8 14-inch grids and only use 9×9 14-inch grids.

Once again, 8×8 grids pose a potential strangulation hazard for your pigs and should be avoided at all costs.

C&C guinea pig cages are names after the base materials used to build them – cubes (steel wire grids) and Coroplast. The great thing about these particular materials is they are reasonably inexpensive, durable and easy to work with. Using cubes and Coroplast technology will enable you to make a spacious, healthy and safe home for your valuable family pets.

C&C cages offer a lot of cage for the money and you have the choice of designing and building one yourself. Otherwise, you can purchase one online in kit form from a trustworthy seller. We here at BlueStoneCommerce are guinea pig owners as well as sellers of comfy and roomy guinea pig cages.

What is the most critical factor when you’re choosing guinea pig cages? Arguably, the most important factor in most cases is “space” – square footage. Your guinea pigs need room to run, room to romp – that’s right – room to roam. The bare minimum space endorsed for two pigs by many guinea pig rescue associations is 10.5 square feet. And because you should usually keep at least two guinea pigs together (they are very social creatures and need companianship); you shouldn’t ever be considering buying an enclosure any smaller than 10.5 sq. feet.

But what about those manufactured petstore cages? Aren’t they just fine? I mean – we find them everywhere. They certainly must be O.K. Don’t they?

No they do not. See for yourself.

Just look inside one of those industrially-produced cages. Imagine placing your fully grown adult guinea pig in there. Obviously, she takes up a serious amount of space in there. Now add a nestbox, a hay rack, a water bottle and a feed dish – simply to make the environment more comfortable for your pigs. There’s no room to move around – no room for exercise – no room to run, romp or roam. And that’s without toys or other accessories.

It’s been said before: Making your pig live in one of those cramped pet store guinea pig cages is like someone making you live your entire life in your bathroom.

And remember:

There’s meant to be at least two pigs in there – so now, in your mental picture, choose a companion to be in there with you – 24/7.

And to make matters even worse – you and your buddy are sitting there quietly in your bathroom habitat and your owner decides that it might be a splendid idea to put a kitchen table and a refrigerator in there with you – simply to make things more “comfortable” for you. Aren’t you starting to feel just a bit like a lab guinea pig stuffed into a rodent cage?

And there’s the root of the issue. Guinea pigs have an unfortunate history as lab test animals. Actually the term “guinea pig” is still regularly used to refer to someone who is being used as a test subject. Because of this unfavorable past history, I suspect that many guinea pig cages were initially built to contain guinea pigs in labs.
Building an optimum salamander terrarium is extremely needed for your canine’s survival. Salamanders would like to dwell in a place where it nearly resembles their natural habitat. If you need to take advantage habitat for your tiny creatures, then just go through given steps below. These could make things easier in your case. Let’s begin!

Check out this exo terra the ideal reptile and amphibian housing!

Salamander Terrarium

Step 1- First, you must determine the salamander species you have in your own home. If you don’t have any yet, then select one containing less work to try and do for any beginner.

There are actually 3 general fvvbfgjx categories of salamander habitat that you should know. These include: terrestrial or land habitat, aquatic habitat, and semi-aquatic habitat.

Terrestrial habitat or simply referred to as the land habitat is especially composed of sand, dirt and soil with plants and barks of trees it might be placed inside. Aquatic habitat is mainly constructed from water. It is advisable that you use an aquarium for the aquatic habitat. However, semi-aquatic habitat is made up of both land and water.

Step 2-After you may have determined the correct habitat for the salamander, it is now time to setup your terrarium.

Clean your tank or aquarium thoroughly with plain, tepid to warm water. Never use detergent or any other cleanser when cleansing the tank. They could leave remains of toxic substances which will harm your salamander’s skin. This is very dangerous for their health.

Step 3- Now you can add background as part of your terrarium.

Background will add beauty and elegance with your tank; nonetheless it also can cause anxiety on your salamanders. Hence, it is strongly recommended helping put the reds (back part) on your own terrarium, as well as leaving additional sides for viewing.

Step 4- Start putting some soil or land towards the bottom in the tank.

Make sure that it truly is evenly distributed and set them while in the right position so other additional equipment may be put combined with them. You should use gravel as opposed to soil thus it won’t hit you up for much since soil are replaced regularly due to the opportunity to absorb ammonia, which can be detrimental to salamanders.

Step 5- Place divisions when you’ve got chosen to keep several species, however it is optional. In the event you need to keep merely one species, then you’ll definitely will no longer need divisions.

Step 6- Put additional decorations.

Putting decorations on your terrarium is often fun. You can decide whether you will employ living plants or artificial plants sold at stores. However, you should use live ones to develop its natural habitat within the wild.

Consider putting rocks and driftwoods inside your terrarium. This may add further beauty and attractiveness. Make sure that your terrarium has method of obtaining moisture. Very dry terrarium tends to make your salamander ill. You can add a dish of water inside so that your salamander will keep their body’s moist.

Step 7- Cover your salamander terrarium properly.

See to it that you simply cover your terrarium properly. A plastic lid that is securely fitted atop your terrarium a very good idea than just a mesh or screen lid mainly because it are able to keep the temperature low inside the tank.

If you are are done reading the steps, you are all set for making your first salamander terrarium. Hopefully, these steps will let you alleviate your worries on how to set up the best habitat on your pet. When you just follow this ebook, can bet you’ll have a beautiful salamander immediately. Enjoy building your salamander habitat!

Try this aquarium terrarium , a unique and enhanced habitat for all aquatic and most land animals!

Ferrets bite hard. That’s not an option, but it’s a sad risk ferret owners have to consider. It can happen to anybody at anytime with a nearby ferret. But there’s no need to panic. Most bites are not as harmful but still, precautionary measures must be taken properly.

A Quick Look on Ferret’s Teeth Structure

Ferrets’ teeth are in many ways synonymous to human teeth. But the lethal part in the ferret’s dentures would have to be the tip of their canines. That is the sharp part that some owners decide to cut off at the outset of its growth to avoid ferret bits from plaguing the whole ferret experience.

The good thing is that ferrets’ canine tips can naturally break off from excessive biting of objects. Giving them hard toys they can chew, for example, can help eliminate the threat of its sharp canines.

Ferret Bite Quick Tip 1: Assess the extent of the damage. If bitten, the very first thing to do would be to assess the depth of the bite. If it is just a minor scratch, clean the wounds but do not make any dismissive presumptions. In the case where you are confronted with a major bite, you need to have it checked immediately.

Ferret Bite Quick Tip 2: Clean the wound immediately with your first aid kit. Cover it afterwards. Having a first aid kit would be very beneficial for both you and your pet ferret. Wash with soap and water, clean it with peroxide, cover it with gauze and if all else fails proceed to the next step. Note the color of the wound and make sure that the blood flows for a considerable amount of time before cleaning it up.

Ferret Bite Quick Tip 3: Go to the nearest doctor. Seeking the help of a medical professional will help you have the objective assessment of the wound. It will also ensure that you did not acquire any infections from the ferret bite.

Ferret Bite Quick Tip 4: Have the ferret checked by the veterinarian. It is not just you who needs to be checked but you also need the help of your veterinarian to have your ferret checked. You also have to have the dentures of your ferret checked to see if there are any remnants of skin or anything unusual that came from the bite. This is to ensure that both your health and the ferret’s health remain uncompromised.

Ferret Bite Quick Tip 5: In the case where one ferret bites another, have them both checked and keep them in separate cages until the tension dissipates. In the case of ferret to ferret bites, you will have to have both of them checked with a veterinarian. If at all possible, analyze the causes of the hostile behavior. Eventually, you may have to combine them in a single place again, but make sure that this is done with utmost care and in a gradual manner.

Ferret Bite Quick Tip 6: Furnish your first aid kit immediately for both humans and ferrets.
Your ferrets must also have their own first aid kit, furnished with pretty much the same thing that the human first aid kit has except that all the objects are downsized to suit your furry creatures.

Exert caution in treating wounds of your ferrets, otherwise they will see it as an attack and bite you as you treat it.

The easiest way to maintain the health of your conejo enano is to learn health care methods and to prepare yourself when a health emergency should occur. It is also crucial that you pay attention to your pet — for his emotional well being but also because this is what’s going to help you spot a modification of behavior or appearance. If you do not spend time with your rabbit every day, it will be almost impossible to catch an issue before it becomes a complete blown crisis.

Below you’ll find several very basic bunny care information. Please remember that the material presented here doesn’t signify the whole of what you, as a bunny owner, should know to properly care for your pet and ensure him a long, pleased life. However, it has to be enough to maintain your rabbit alive and properly until you can talk to your vet, surf our conejo enano links, and purchase and read a great book on rabbit care.

Make sure to check out our information on bunny illnesses, close to the bottom of this page. We also have a lot of more pages on this site with practical bunny care information so be sure to surf around.

Most importantly, if your rabbit is having health problems, contact a veterinary as soon as possible.

Keep your bunnie supplied with clean, fresh water regularly. Use a gravity water bottle that may be attached to the cage so your little friend doesn’t knock the water over while you’re away a work or university

Do not try to feed your conejo enano only with lettuce, or carrots, or possibly grass! Rabbit’s fed this way don’t grow and develop effectively. All rabbit’s need rabbit chow. Commercially packed bunny chow, available at any pet or feed store and also your supermarket, has a variety of nutrients which are essential for your rabbit’s health, including proteins.

exo terra

If you’re looking to get a fascinatingly beautiful unique pet, what about considering a bearded dragon. They create wonderful pets question sorts of individuals. These pets are not too expensive and you should not require intensive care, and maybe they are fun to have interaction with. For anyone who is planning on investing in a bearded dragon it will be a good idea to fully familiarize yourself with the prerequisites which might be necessary bearded dragon care and providing a habitat which means your beardie should be able to live proper and happy life. You need to decide if you are able in order to meet these requirements before you buy your dragon. You will Know more about exo terra and other reptile accessories within this article!

This information will focus and many of the important things that your new bearded dragon owner needs to know. This may not be plenty of material, however, you need to get it right, so see clearly thoroughly.

Living area

If you ask me, juvenile beardies fvvbfgjq are probably the sweetest creatures on earth. A ten gallon aquarium or terrarium has the ability to house nearly several juveniles comfortably. You will need to give you a bowl of food (you will discover bearded dragon food in your local pet store or online) and many branches and even rocks so they can beek on. As with all other creatures they will grow and can need to have a whole lot more space compared to the juveniles. The adult dragon will require no less than 40 gallons of space and also this measurements terrarium may be known as cramped. When you own a few adult dragon the essential terrarium size will more than doubled.

The truth is your beardie will need enough space to reside in and roam. You’ll first want to know when you’ve got enough space in the home to deal with a considerable aquarium and when you do begin searching for deals online to uncover used aquariums. New aquariums can be quite pricy.

Feeding your Bearded Dragon

What we feed your dragon may play an important role in the general health. These creatures are omnivores; however, they must be given a diet plan that consists mostly of herbs. When I first bought my bearded dragon I used to be told to feed him just crickets by the owner who sold him if you ask me thus, making this exactly what I did. My beardie was sluggish and unhealthy for a long time until Used to do some study and found the lizards require more nutrients that crickets can offer. Then I changed his diet to contain a lot of leafy green vegetables, squash and carrots to his diet. He still got his fill of insects such as crickets too, but only as treats as well as supplement calcium. Shortly fater he began to become much healthier plus more vibrant. I’m considerably more careful with my beardie and then.

When being focused on bearded dragon care, it is very essential that you spending some time working together with your dragon on a one-on-one basis to get him utilized to eating better that almost exclusively is made of vegetables. Enough time required plus the difficulty of this procedure differs from individual to individual, but can take between just a couple of days in order to many weeks. If you don’t provide the time for it to spend on this technique its best you take into account choosing another pet.

If you buy a dog you get a consignment to manage it as well as its life depends upon you. Bearded dragon care isn’t any different. Be certain that you’re ready with the commitment.

You should also check out an aquarium terrarium for your reptile, its also cool! Your animal will love it!
